ABOUT
Dorry studied violin at The Yehudi Menuhin School and the Royal Academy of Music. She studied composition with Malcolm Singer and Dominic Muldowney.
She is a multi-instrumentalist composer who specialises in recording strings (Violin/Viola/Cello).
Her compositions have been used on the TV show Britain's Got Talent and for the documentary 'A Very British Appeal' (ITV) about the Disasters Emergency Committee. She has composition credits for the TV series 'Passenger' (ITV, ITVX and Britbox in March 2024), and for ITV America's 'The Boston Strangler'.
Other clients have included Sony, BMW (music for the award winning 'Drive To Succeed' series), Spotify original podcasts, Tough Mudder and Tearfund.
In June 2024 she wrote the theme song and much of the sound track for 'There and Gone: South Street' - A podcast by Glass Entertainment.
Since 2020 Dorry has been Head of Strings for multi-award winning podcast company Noiser, recording the strings on soundtracks throughout each show and composing hundreds of pieces, including themes for many of the Real Dictator series. Noiser has over 221 million listens and counting.
Recent compositions include the theme tune for an audio book of Sherlock Holmes short stories narrated by Hugh Bonneville.
As well as writing and recording her own music, Dorry records strings for singer-songwriters and other composers writing for radio, TV and film. She has worked with Keaton Henson since 2020, including film credits for workshopping the strings for the film Supernova (Colin Firth, Stanley Tucci) and recently recording all the Violin and Viola for his album Somnambulant Cycles.
